Off Road Track

Race Day Operating Procedures

• Track opens for practice at 8:00 am
• Racer sign-ups begin at 9:00 am
• Track closes for maintenance at 11:45 am
• Drivers meeting at  12:00pm
• Racing Starts at 12:15 pm
• Minimum of 4 entries to make a class
• First class is $12
• Each additional class is $8
  • Sign up fees are paid in the hobby shop
• Pitting/Parking is to be done in the field to the right of the track 
  • Participants are to unload their vehicles in the pit area and park their cars in the designated area
• First time track A-main winners will be given a Scale Reproductions t-shirt in addition to a 1^st place plaque
  • Each A-main winner, as well as 2^nd, 3^rd and TQ will be given plaques weekly

Race Day Format

• Qualifying
  • 3 Rounds of qualifying per class
  • 6 minute qualifiers per round per class
  • Best single qualifier counts towards main
  • Reshuffle after round 2 of qualifying
  • Maximum of 10 cars on track per qualifying race
  •  IFMAR style qualifying runs
  • Number of rounds of qualifying subject to change based upon time constraints
• Mains
  • Nitro Expert Classes (1/8^th Buggy, 1/8^th Truggy, etc.)
    • 20 Minute A Main
    • 15 Minute B Main
    • 7 Minute C Main and lower
  • Nitro Sportsman Class (1/8^th Buggy/Truggy)
    • 15 Minute A Main
    • 10 Minute B Main
    • 7 Minute C Main and lower
  • Short Course Classes (Stock, Spec, 4x4, etc.)
    • 10 Minute A Main
    • 7 Minute B Main
    • 5 Minute C Main and lower
  • 1/8th Electric Classes (Buggy and Truggy)
    
  • 12 Minute A Main
  • 7 Minute B Main
  • 5 Minute C Main and lower
    
• 10 Cars automatically to the A Main
• 2 Cars bump from each lower main
• A "run what you brung" class will be offered to all individuals not having a specific type of car
• Length of mains subject to change based upon number of entries and time constraints

Short Course Stock Class Rules

• Tires: Stock tires from RTR SC10, Slash, Blitz, Ultima SC, Strike, XXX SCT or J Concepts Goosebumps
  • Cannot mix tire type between front/ rear
• Battery: NiMh 6 or 7 cell/ Lipo 2 cell with 40C maximum continuous discharge
• Motor: Stock motor from RTR SC10, Slash, Blitz, Ultima SC, Strike or XXX SCT
  
• ESC: Stock ESC from RTR SC10, Slash, Blitz, Ultima SC, Strike or XXX SCT
  

Short Course Spec Class Rules

• Tires: Any short course specific tires (NO 1/8 buggy adapters)
• Battery: NiMh 6 or 7 cell/ Lipo 2 cell
• Motor: Any motor allowed in stock or max of 17.5 brushless system

NOTE: Any two wheel drive short course truck fitting into neither of the two classes mentioned above are considered to be a modified class truck.  ALL criteria must be met to race in either class.

Racer Responsibilities

• Racers are to act with proper etiquette and respect towards one another
  • Excessive verbal abuse towards other racers or turn marshals will result in the stopped scoring of the driver in violation
  • Intentional or excessive rough driving will result in the stopped scoring of the driver in violation
  • Any misconduct detrimental to the track or its participants will result in suspension or a permanent ban from the track
• Racers are not to enter the driver’s stand until the last driver from the previous race has exited
• Pit men are not to enter pit road until the previous race has ended
  • A warm up area will be provided
• Any conflicts or concerns are encouraged to be immediately reported to the race director to resolve any issues

Turn Marshall Responsibilities

• Racers are to report to the area of the track that corresponds to their car number immediately following their race to turn marshal
  • Racers unable to complete their race due to breakage, malfunction, etc., are still to report to their turn marshalling job immediately following the completion of the race
• Racers are to leave their cars and transmitter in the designated impound area so as to not leave the track following their race
  • Once turn marshalling has been completed, the racer can return to the pits with their car and transmitter
• An honest effort must be made in turn marshalling
  • Failure to act accordingly in all instances will result in one lap being subtracted from the racer’s best qualifier

Practice Day Operating Procedures

• Track will be open for practice
  • Monday thru Friday 12:00 pm thru 6:30 pm
  • Sunday 2:00 pm thru 4:00 pm
• Practice is $8 per day Monday thru Friday
  • A family rate of $25 for an adult and three or more children is offered
• Practice is $5 per day on Sunday
• A one year Practice Pass is $99
  • Allows unlimited practice access to track during operational seasonal hours
• Track will be closed for practice during times of maintenance
• Track will be closed for practice during times when track conditions are unfit for driving
• Pitting for practice is to be done in the field located to the right of the track
  • Parking on practice days is to be done next to the embankment by the dumpsters.  The driving lane must be left clear
• Participants are required to pay/ check in inside hobby shop before entering track  
  • Participants will be given a corresponding arm band in coordination with check in
  • Participants under the age of 16 are required to be accompanied by an adult while participating
• In no way are practice participants allowed to alter, work on and/or water the track
  • Failure to comply will result in practice pass being revoked for the remainder of the day

General Track Rules/Procedures

• To enter hobby shop, participants must enter from front of the building
• Participants are encouraged to bring their own tables, chairs, tents and extension cords
  • Electricity is offered but limited at the moment.  Participants are encouraged to bring generators if applicable
• No alcohol/ intoxication allowed on site
• Any changes in schedule will be posted to the SRI Raceway home page by 10:00 pm the night before any scheduled race day.

Box Stock Slash Rules

• Must run box stock motor, esc, servo and tires from rtr BRUSHED Slash.  No late model style bodies.

NOTE: Any two wheel drive short course truck fitting into neither of the two classes mentioned above are considered to be a modified class truck.  ALL criteria must be met to race in either class.

NOTE:  4 Like cars are required to make a class.  For the time being, all other classes outside of the short course classes listed above are considered open.  Rules will be developed for specific classes as interest evolves in a particular class.
